Hi my name is Daish Malani. I've been a dj for five years.I live in Tokyo, but lived in Australia most of my life and my heritage is from India, a place which i love and feel strong connections with.
I started as a Goa trance Dj and still have a huge love for psychedelic and progressive trance, but im more of a chillout dj these days. As Ahimsa I play indian middle eastern electronica, wafty grooves and melodic glitchy electronica. Anything that moves me i will play if i can find a suitable spot in a set for it. There are so many wicked artists out there i feel spoiled for choice as they give me away to represent the sort of person i am by identifying myself in their music and displaying it for all the world to see. Music is the greatest tool for healing your soul and spreading love throughout my life and other peoples. For this gift i feel blessed.
Eventually i will release an album of original stuff, but enjoy being a dj as it allows me more musical freedom.
I've played many places and in many countries but i never feel like ive accomplished my musical goals. As a person and a dj i will progress through genres and movements. I will always showcase indian and middle eastern music as its sound is so natural to me. it is part of who i am.
